Steve Andrews

Steve started his music career in his early teens learning percussion at The Kent Music School and becoming a member of the Maidstone Youth Music Society Orchestra gaining him a solid music background.

During the 80’s as a teenager Steve branched out into electronic music and started playing keyboards and programming drum machines. He was also the drummer in a punk band of which also gave him a good knowledge of music and experience of the music business as the band were signed to a small independent label.

During the late 80’s Steve discovered house music and Acid House. He then started DJing at illegal raves and parties in Kent. This opportunity was then leading Steve onto producing music with another producer under the name of Energise 2000 and they performed live sets at various Kent all night raves. The scene developed back into House music during the 90’s and Steve met Tony Edwards who then worked for EMI Records and produced Progressive House music under the name of Aquilia and were a big favourite with Sasha & John Digweed. They had various records deals under this project name and compilation licensing deals including the huge double CD compilation ‘Sasha Ibiza 013’ on Global Underground of which has become a classic album.

More recently Steve produces and remixes under various project names and also composes music in many different and varied styles for media, TV and film. This is the next level in Steve’s music career.
